This is a once-in-a-lifetime retreat opportunity with Stephen Mugen Snyder, Roshi to retreat on a comfortable passenger barge cruising through the Mekong River experiencing two Asian Buddhist countries.
Mugen Roshi will be teaching the Absolute Heart Practices of Theravada Buddhism. These are Absolute equanimity, Absolute compassion, Absolute empathetic joy, and Absolute unborn love.
These heart practices will be practiced at the Absolute level, the secret, deepest, most life altering level. We will work with each of these Absolute heart qualities both on and off the cushion.

Additionally, Mugen Roshi will be leading the group in Recollection of the Buddha practices. We will practice with each of the awakeness qualities of the Buddha as we venture on excursions to quaint villages and marketplaces along the Mekong River. The group will also visit, and practice, at sacred sites along this journey. Practice periods will include meditation each morning and evening. Unlike most of Mugen’s retreats, this one will not be in noble silence.
Near the end of our journey on the Mekong River will be a stop at Angkor Wat, one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Southeast Asia. Mugen Roshi will do a guided meditation at, or near, Angkor Wat to receive the Buddha’s teachings directly from the Buddha.

This retreat will commence on November 5th, 2027, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and travel to Siem Reap, Cambodia, arriving on November 15th, 2027.
The accommodation will be two-person staterooms, each stateroom will have its own bathroom and shower, air conditioning, and wi-fi.
