Liberating the Self: Weakness and Insecurity
A Daylong Online Retreat
Aug 16, 2025
11:00 am - 3:30 pm US Eastern Time
Online, via Zoom
8:00 am – 12:30 pm US Pacific Time
UPDATE 8/9/2026: Mugen has changed this to a Dāna event. See new pricing below.
In this daylong we will explore what the self is, how it is structured, and how to work with challenging emotions as a vehicle for returning to our source—the Absolute. With repeated engagement, challenging human emotions can be traced back to the Absolute as we contact and abide in the authenticity of the Absolute directly.
The subject of this daylong will be closely based on Stephen’s most recent book Liberating the Self: Buddhist Practices for an Authentic Life. In particular, we will be focusing on the feelings of weakness and insecurity.
The format of the retreat includes:
- talks, instruction, and guided meditation practices
- group discussion on the practices and experiences
- ample opportunity for questions or comments with Stephen
- three-month access to the retreat recording
